On the Path to Strengthening Electoral Integrity in Poland: Education, Monitoring, and Advocacy
Despite the record-breaking voter turnout on October 15, 2023, elections in Poland are in a state of crisis—whether actual or perceived—further exacerbated by growing polarization and an erosion of trust in democratic institutions. To counter this, we will strive to:
a) enhance citizens' trust in elections by increasing their knowledge and fostering direct engagement in the electoral process; b) encourage stakeholders to implement comprehensive electoral law reform as the primary means of ensuring electoral integrity.
As part of this project, we have prepared educational materials for voters, including first-time voters, as well as advanced educational materials for election commission members, election proxies, and civic observers.
We have also monitored the training process for members of district election commissions, as well as the impact of training quality on the conduct of election day proceedings.
