Where is election administration in Poland heading?
In our latest publication, *Electoral Administration in Poland: Quo Vadis?*, we invited Prof. Jordi Barrat from the Rovira i Virgili University in Tarragona to examine the state of Poland’s electoral administration—specifically, the National Electoral Commission (PKW). Since the 2018 shift in the PKW’s institutional model—from one composed of judges to one in which 7 out of 9 members are nominated by parliamentary groups—the debate surrounding the Commission’s reform has stalled on the question: "Should we revert to the judicial model? And if so, how can this be achieved amidst a rule-of-law crisis?" Our publication not only proposes methods for depoliticizing and broadening the social representation within the PKW’s membership, but also identifies additional tools that can be utilized to help this supreme electoral body retain the trust of voters.
